"Capoeira - tonight and extra sessions"

Dear ...,

Capoeira – can you spell it yet?

We’ve had 14 sessions (we ought to be quite good by now - yikes…)

And mostly we had a great response – 30 to 60 people at each – so a big thank you to everyone that forwarded the email round/ stuck it up in their office and brought their friends…

And Battersea Park was the so popular, we’re extending the sessions there for August (see below)...

(And that’s just the warm-up…)

(Marcos showing off)

The highs…

Marcos, the Brazilian instructor, has been a legend: his ruthless warm-ups have given us all stiff thighs, and his mind-boggling demonstrations have made us wonder why we didn’t pay more attention in PE at school.

We’ve had dogs, wet T-shirt competitions, and even a “Disco meets Capoeira” session when we forgot the Capoeira CD and all we had was the Jacksons…

(Regents Park in the rain – marketing heaven…)

and the Lows…

There was the Regents Park Softball team, who seemed almost as bad at Softball as we were at Capoeira – though strangely adept at sending balls in our direction.

But even they didn’t turn up in last Wednesday’s downpour (see left).  “Soft”ball…

So now what…?

You asked for more – so since Battersea was the most popular, we’re doing 4 more sessions there…

Tonight (Monday 1st August), then Monday 8th, Monday 15th and Monday 22nd August.  [Bank holiday 29th Aug TBC]

Same time – arrive at 6.45pm for 7pm – 8pm class.

Same place – the Boules area, near the Albert Bridge road car park

More info – See www.fireflytonics.com/capoeira.cfm

Save Battersea Park from pink monstrosity

And after that…?

We’ve loved it, and I don’t think we’re the only ones, so we’ll definitely try and do something similar next year – obviously bigger, better and with a twist, but we’ve got a while to work out the details.

In the meantime, if you have any thoughts, do drop us an email…

And if you’d like some photos for your album, do take a look at the ones we’ve taken:

(Just give us a month or two…)

Thanks again

In the meantime, thanks again for coming along and taking part – it’s been great to meet you, we hope you’ve enjoyed the Firefly and see you again soon…

P.S. if you’d like to stop hearing from us, just reply with “unsubscribe” in the subject and I’ll take you off the list – and apologies!

P.P.S.

You may have heard about our book of the 50 best secret cafés in London: those home-from-home treasures where the food's oh-so-fresh and the atmosphere always has that certain buzz… The places that mean you never have to settle for a Pret baguette again…

We’ve had lots of recommendations, but there’s still just time to get yours in, so click on this link to tell us:
